About Jane Jukes
From her starting point of professional training as a home economics lecturer and teacher while living in Devon, Jane developed an increasing interest in art and sought training wherever her itinerant lifestyle with her husband led her. Her teaching background has also led her into leading successful Painting Workshops.
For the last 25 years she has sold her work extensively while living in Scotland and Cyprus and more recently in Sussex.
“Retirement” on the Sussex coast has given her renewed opportunity to develop her work in a variety of mediums and subjects with a marked emphasis on marine art, drawing inspiration from the numerous fishing and yachting harbours along the south coast.
She has exhibited regularly in recent years with the Brighton and Hove Arts Council and in Brighton Festival Open Houses every May.
